Highlights From the 2018 USMS National Championships

Team MySwimPro recently competed at the U.S. Masters Swimming Short Course National Championships at the historic IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana. It was an incredible week filled with fast swimming, our social meet up at Military Park, and a ton of fun. Check out our recap video below:

Our team rented a van, then drove south from Michigan to Indianapolis. After we picked Ben up from the airport, we were on our way! Everyone on the MySwimPro Team competed in the meet, and spent 3 days deck with thousands of other swimmers from all over the country!
We also hosted our very-own social meet up, which was an awesome way to connect with the MySwimPro community in-person and have some fun and relaxation during the meet.

MySwimPro Social Meet Up

On Saturday, we hosted our first social event outside Michigan. We had over 100 swimmers attend from across the United States. Team MySwimPro sponsored a spread of food for the picnic that included: bagels, pizza, bananas, clementines and water to stay hydrated. Checkout the re-cap video below:

We wanted the picnic to be a fun break from the swim meet, so all of our guests received a lei upon their arrival 🙂 We had great music, a fun photobooth, lawn games, and women’s active swimwear brand JOLYN even joined the party to host a trunk show.

The photo booth was a real hit, and everyone who attended had the opportunity to dress up with props and take pictures behind our picture frame. Guests had a chance to enter our raffle, and 3 lucky winners went home with MySwimPro gift baskets!

Have you ever rolled up to a swim meet in a limo?
Team MySwimPro likes to roll in style! Checkout our entrance in a 16-person stretched limo:

U.S. Masters Swimming Nationals

This Short Course Nationals was the largest event ever put on by U.S. Masters Swimming. The National Governing body for adult fitness swimming in the United States had 2,400 registered athletes for this spring Nationals. Checkout our highlight reel below:

I’ve competed in multiple national championships and this was by far the fastest competition of them all. There were studs, and there was depth in every event across every age group. Team MySwimPro held up medaling, scoring points, and racing head to head with the best!

It was exciting to watch our community members race, after prepping for the competition and training with the MySwimPro app. Members of our community captured National titles, best times, and huge improvements across their races!

During the chaos of the meet, I had the opportunity to host the #AskASwimPro Show with our very own, Benjamin Hendricks. It was great to host the show at the iconic IU Natatorium – the home of the U.S. Olympic Trials, where countless legends (including Michael Phelps) made their first Olympic Team. You can watch the full episode below:

We had a great experience in Indianapolis, and look forward to hosting more events and attending championships in the United States and abroad. Will you be at the Pan American Games in Orlando this summer? If so, email us or send us a message on social media! In the meantime, happy swimming!
