Winning Medals in Brazil with MySwimPro 🇧🇷

This week, we caught up with Marcello Carrapito, a competitive Masters swimmer and coach who has been swimming with MySwimPro at his local pool in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. 🇧🇷
We’re proud to welcome Marcello to our Global Ambassador Team and can’t wait for you to get to know more about this determined swimmer.

Meet Marcello

Hello MySwimPro community! My name is Marcello Carrapito, and I am from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I am a 37 years old Masters Swimmer, journalist and Physical Education coach/teacher.

“I’ve been a swimmer ever since I was a child and swimming will forever be part of my life.”

I compete in all of our state and international Masters Swim meets here in Brazil and am saving up my money to travel to the South American Swimming Championships and The UANA Pan American Masters Championships.

I love to teach people how to swim and train more advanced swimmers on how to improve their racing. I’ve recently been very involved in teaching young children how to swim. It’s really fun!

Since my mother passed away in 2013, I promised her that I would always keep swimming and competing, because she always loved watching me race and winning medals. My mother is my inspiration to swim everyday. Sure winning medals is nice, but I’m also very passionate about making new friends and sharing the love of sport with other swimmers.

Training With MySwimPro

When I discovered MySwimPro, I saw a big opportunity to expand my workouts, share them with my local community and meet other swimmers from all over the world. The global community in the app really keeps me motivated to try my hardest in the water. I am so excited to be an ambassador! 🇧🇷

I try to swim around 3,000 meters every day with a different workout from the MySwimPro app.  It’s helpful because I do not have to worry about creating my own custom workouts. I know exactly what I’m going to do when I get to the pool.

Because I do not have a smartwatch, I like to export the workout to a PDF, then print it out. I then put the printed sheet of paper on a kickboard and use that by the side of the pool to remember the workout.

It’s a great way to track all of my swims and compare the data from each swim throughout the year.

My Favorite Memories

My good luck charm? When I was a child, my mother gifted me a towel to bring to my competitions. Ever since she passed away in 2013, i always bring the towel with me as a good luck charm and a reminder that she is there with me while I swim.
You are amazing, Marcello! We are so happy to have you on our team as an Ambassador. Thanks for sharing your story, keep up the hard work, and good luck in your next race!
