Emma McKeon Wins 7th Medal, Becomes Most Decorated Australian Athlete of All Time

After winning gold in the women’s 4×100 medley relay, Australian Emma McKeon has become the most decorated Australian Olympic athlete of all time, in any sport.

She’s hauling a whopping 7 medals home from the Tokyo Games:

This brings McKeon’s Olympic medal total to 11. She won 4 medals in the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro:

11 medals places McKeon as the second most decorated female Olympic swimmer of all time.

McKeon is the first Australian Olympian to win 4 gold medals at a single Olympic Games. She’s also the first Australian to win more than 5 medals at a single Olympics.

McKeon broke multiple Olympic records during the 2020 Games, swimming a 51.96 in the 100m freestyle and a 23.81 in the 50m freestyle. She also helped the Australian team set a new world record in the 4x100m freestyle relay.
