It sounds simple, but most iPhones (iPhone 7 & later) are “splash proof,” meaning they are water-resistant as long as the screen is not cracked. This makes it easy to follow your swim workout right from your phone, without the stress of your phone getting ruined.

Now available on iOS in the MySwimPro app, the Splash Mode feature delivers an easy-to-use way to take your personalized swim workouts to the pool.
Ditch the whiteboard, forget about trying to print out a workout, and don’t stress about syncing a smartwatch.
How To Follow MySwimPro Workouts Without a Smartwatch:
Every swim workout in the MySwimPro app is personalized to your unique speed, goals, interval times, and training routine. Follow your recommended training plan to improve your technique, gain strength, and swim faster.
- Open the MySwimPro app on your phone to preview your next workout. Remember to watch the technique videos to prepare for drills & learn new tips!
- Tap “Start Your Workout”
- Tap “Start Workout on iPhone”
- At the pool, prop your iPhone (iPhone 7 & later) horizontally using a water bottle, or tripod. Make sure it is close enough to the end of the pool, so that you can read and touch your screen during the workout. If you’re nervous about water, we recommend buying a waterproof phone case or clear drybag so you can still see & tap your screen during the workout.
- Turn up your sound so you can watch technique videos from the pool, and hear the countdown bell in between reps.
- Jump in & follow the workout! It’s easy to see your set, interval time, pace clock, goal time, and # of reps with big and bold numbers on the screen.
- If you need to pause your workout, skip to the next rep, just hold down the small (…) menu icon.
- Smile for a selfie! 3, 2, 1… smile! The app will grab a quick photo of you so you can share your workout to your feed on MySwimPro, Strava or TrainingPeaks. Show off your swim to your friends on social media by tapping the share icon!
- Log the workout & check out the detailed analytics on your iPhone. See your overall time, pace, and calories burnt. Plus, for every set and rep, you can see a breakdown of the number of strokes you took per lap, and how well you completed each rep.
