Tatjana Schoenmaker of South Africa won gold in the women’s 200-meter breaststroke, swimming a massive 2:18.45.

Schoenmaker almost broke the world record in semifinals, but a wonky finish prevented her from making it happen. Thankfully, she was able to make it happen in the race that meant the most!

In this final, Lilly King had the lead for the first 150, and was swimming well ahead of world record pace, but Schoenmaker caught her on the last 50 to touch first. King takes silver, and her training partner Annie Lazor takes bronze.
