As MySwimPro’s Head of Partnerships, Dan Plantamura bridges the gap between brands and our community of more than two million swimmers.

Dan Plantamura joined the MySwimPro team in 2020 and has built MySwimPro’s robust partnership program from the ground up, managing partner outreach and identifying the brands that are the best fit for our audience.

Dan works with MySwimPro’s internal production team to create impactful sponsored campaigns that enhance not only each partner’s brand, but also bolster MySwimPro CEO Fares Ksebati’s position as the most trusted swim coach on YouTube.

Swimming Background

Dan started swimming at age five, after his doctor recommended the sport to keep his heart strong after surgery.

Six months post-op, Dan was in the water! From swimming lessons to his high school swim team, Dan knew he was going to stay connected to swimming for the rest of his life.

Instead of swimming in college like many athletes do, Dan and his brother Michael chose to use their connections and entrepreneurial skills to launch successful swimming businesses.

You can thank Dan and his brother for feeding your swimming meme addiction via their popular accounts on Twitter (@swimming101) and Instagram (@swimming). They leveraged the success of these social platforms to launch the Swimfluence subscription box.

At Swimfluence, they collaborated with brands like arena and partnered with gold medalists Caeleb Dressel, Missy Franklin, Ryan Lochte and others to bring curated swimming gear and signed memorabilia to subscribers every month.

Dan’s Top Swimming Tips

These days, Dan swims occasionally, putting himself to the test at a Masters swim meet or sharing a lane with fellow team members at the annual MySwimPro company retreat. Check out his tips for getting back in the pool after a long break:

  • Focus on Technique: Add drills to your workouts to rebuild your feel of the water.
  • Measure Your Progress: Set goals that are trackable, like a specific race time.
  • Set a Routine: Life gets busy, but if you create a realistic routine you can stick to, you’re set!
  • Stay Accountable: Find a community that will keep you motivated and consistent, like the MySwimPro Facebook Group.
